Established in 1998, Child-line provides support and comfort to all children in Zimbabwe, regardless of economic circumstance, through the of confidential Freepost, Free-phone and Drop-in services. They train helpline volunteers and assistance training for those involved in the welfare of children either directly or indirectly. They also work hard in alerting the public and policy makers to issues affecting children and their rights.
116 is the toll free number across all networks that children can call, available 24 hours a day, and the trained volunteer counselors provide multi lingual counseling in English, Ndebele and Shona

EMTHUNZINI WETHEMBA
Emthunzini Wethemba orphanage, which translates as “Shelter of Hope,” is located less than 2 km north of Bulawayo City Center along Vic Falls road, it sits adjacent to the Mpilo Hospital OI clinic. The children who live at the orphanage come to the home from Bulawayo’s social welfare department, from the streets of Bulawayo, or from the Mpilo Hospital Opportunistic Infections clinic when the hospital learns that a child has lost his or her parents or caregivers to AIDS.

KHAYELIHLE CHILDREN’S VILLAGE
The orphanage is located about 20 kilometers outside of Bulawayo’s city center in Mguza, it has five houses and other farm buildings situated on a 270-acre farm. The houses are home to more than 80 orphaned or abandoned children, their caregivers and farm workers. The children are orphaned primarily because of the AIDS pandemic. MUSTARD SEED COMMUNITIES ORPHANAGE
Mustard Seed Communities’ Orphanage in Bulawayo was established in July 2002 to assist with the care of children affected by HIV/AIDS. Mustard Seed has established and maintains four nutrition programs which provide a daily meal to over 500 children who would otherwise go hungry; three pre-schools which accommodate 200 children and provide them with basic education as well as two daily meals.

SANDRA JONES CENTRE
The Sandra Jones Centre is a home for orphans and abandoned babies and children in crisis. We have been operating for over 10 years and over 900 children have passed through our care. We currently have over 70 children in our care and the numbers are increasing almost daily.
Our mission statement is: “To restore babies, children and youth of Bulawayo to a state of physical, emotional and spiritual well being, sufficient for them to proceed/return to a normal, well adjusted lifestyle, preferably within the framework of their family and/or social structure.”
