My Bulawayo sat down with a young Upcoming HipHop star Lloyd Sibanda popular with the name Kulboy and discussed the music industry for Young people in Bulawayo. My Bulawayo (MB) and Kulboy as he preferd me to call him (KB)

 

MB. Describe yourself in one word

KB. Humble

MB. Tell us about your educational background

KB. I went to Luveve High School but never finished my education because of financial problems and that inspired me to venture into music and go back to school.

 

 

MB. what inspired you besides your life story to venture into HipHop?

KB. I have always dreamt of doing HipHop since i was a young boy growing up i wanted to do this what am currently doing.

MB. How has been your music received in Bulawayo

KB. people love my music so much and the youth in particular appreciate the music this has seen me performing in Schools and Clubs.

 

 

MB.Which places have you performed before giving names?

KB. i have done Jazz Bars, in around Bulawayo, Club 40 as well as schools such as Njube, and Mandwandwe and the young people like my musicc so much  and that has pushed me to work even more harder.

MB.What are some of the challenges you face as a HipHop Star?

KB. the issue of money is a big problem faced by many people and in the music industry financ is a major hicup hindering progress for many people. the lack opf recording equippment when doing shows and also the recording labels are shutting us the youngupcominh artists out.

 

 

MB.Under which recording company are you under?

KB. am currently recording my tracks at HUSTLEX in Cowdray Park, this is a home made studio that is were i have recorded some of my previous tracks

MB.which songs can readers be aware of that you have released before?

KB. i have a track by the name of ‘ Ngisuka Phansi ‘describing my journey like meaning  (I started from the bottom) another track is ‘they know” and ‘i was born to shine’

 

MB. Is there money in music?

KB. for now i cannot say there is money or no money am still finding my way, in the industry and time will tell

MB.who is your role model?

KB. BMD a HipHop artist from  Cowdray Park, Acehood and Chris Brown i look up to these great people.

 

MB. what is your biggest achievement to date?

KB. the track I produced with BMD titled Ngisuka Phansi

MB. whom do you look up to in the HipHop industry?

KB. i look up to Emtee from South AFrica and wish to work with him and also Nasty C. Locally i wish to work with Cal-vin as well as Killer T.
