Skyz metro Fm has become the first commercial radio station in Bulawayo after Broadcast Authority of Zimbabwe (BAZ) gave them a working license. The waiting is definitely coming to an end as the Bulawayo people have waited anxiety for this day to engulf the city and listen to their own radio station.
Bulawayo is set to launch its own radio station on the 15th of September 2016, this will be broadcasting live at the Amakhosi cultural center.
skyz metro FM was given a license which saw the renovating of Amakhosi cultural center to pave way for the radio station.
The radio station is currently doing tests which are showcasing what the listeners can look forward to hear come the 15th of September 2016.
speaking to local residents about this development “we are happy about the first radio for Bulawayo and we are proud to be having our own”
the station board of directors were pleased to officially set to open the station. listening on an interview with the chairman Mr Zwelinzima Ndlovu being interviewed by one of the disk jockey , comedian Babongile Skhonjwa he says” we don’t believe we have done it kungani sitshwaywe yizituhwane, we promise the listeners transformation”
the skyz metro FM Ceo Qhubani Moyo could not be reached for comment but the amakhosi founder and celebrated playwright simply said “the big show is in town”
the station brings in a dynamic team to entertain , these include Babongile Skhonjwa, veteran newsreader Aurthur C Evans, and other artists from Bulawayo.
Skyz metro “beyond the sky” that is their motto and “indeed its beyond the sky and what the eye can imagine” says one happy Highlanders fan waving his flag.
The nation awaits for this radio station , its frequency is 100.3 if you are around the city of Queens and Kings. other radio stations set to start broadcasting is Diamond Fm in Mutare, Gogogoi Fm in Masvingo and Faya Fm in Gweru.
