VICE-PRESIDENT Emmerson Mnangagwa engaged the residents of Bulawayo on a constitution consultative meeting held at Large City Hall. This comes at a time when many people are wrongly interpreting the constitution of the Republic of Zimbabwe and some not understanding fully parts of the constitution.
The visit was originally set for early this year, but Mnangagwa was forced to cancel . The meeting was attended by many people from Bulawayo, from the young, the old to hear what the vice president had to say to the people of Bulawayo regarding the constitution of Zimbabwe.
speaking at this meeting the vice president urged people to have a constitution so they know their rights , he also went on to talk of the parts in the constitution. He further urged the public to report any big fish that is causing corruption if they have evidence in the Republic of Zimbabwe.
The public was given the opportunity to engage and ask questions one student who left many feeling sympathetic was a blind student who said he has never read the constitution and he wishes to but he has no braille. This raised alarm for many people to have and to read the constitution of Zimbabwe as it belongs to them and for them. every one who attended the meeting was given a booklet with the constitution of Zimbabwe.
The minister of warvets went on to emphasis that the constitution is an interesting document which when one reads it you discover many rights that you have , you were not aware of. Many residents were happy from this ,move to engage the public on the important things like knowing the constitution and encouraging everyone to have it.
