Youths from different parts of Bulawayo marched in the streets of Bulawayo to celebrate the life of an icon, revolutionary, his excellency President RG Mugabe. This march came at a time when the Zanu PF youth league is preparing to host the 21st February movement in Matopo in celebrating president’s birthday.
The Bulawayo streets were on fire as the army band marched blowing trumpets, with the youths chanting Zanu PF slogans and singing the praise of a revolutionary icon. The event was graced by various traditional groups from Bulawayo with the Environment Management Agency also showcasing their support for these celebrations.Business came to a halt in the city centre when the march reached Robert Mugabe way and Leopold Takawira heading to the city hall.
Speaker after speaker praised the president of Zimbabwe and assured the public gathered thta come 2018 , they are going to vote for President Robert Mugabe as their leader again. Speaking to National Youth league for tourism Betty Dhliwayo she highlighted the importance of this carnival.” long ago the carnival was done to celebrate the rains but this mini carnival is meant to kickstart the 21st February movement to be held in Matopo on Saturday.” said Cde Dhliwayo
Also present at the event were junior members of Parliament who also expressed their support for the carnival. Many youths could be seen clad in #Bob@93 tshirts in support of this carnival.Addressing the youths Betty Dhliwayo spoke highly on the carnival and its importance “we came to Bulawayo to show the MDC supporters that we do not do things in violence but we are ordely people, many are seen in verandahs shaken by our presence” she said
President Robert Mugabe celebrates his 93rd birthday this year and support has come from different parts of the country in these celebrations. Hillside teachers college has supported with a bus and people have been urged to make their way to Matopo and celebrate with the first family.
