MyBulawayo had a chat with the Award winning Businessman,Multi-talented,Inspirational Anton Bhana. We got the opportunity to ask me about Who he is?,how he juggles family, career and sport and the secret behind his success.

1. Who is Anton Bhana?
I’m a young entrepreneur and have a passion for creativity. I love helping people get empowered to live a more “creative life’

2. Tell us more about being an inspiration junky?

The feeling of being inspired is quite captivating. Words can’t express the way you fell but you understand that feeling when it happens. It causes you to feel energised to do better and be better. I enjoy collecting inspirational quotes and watching inspirational movies. I also read a lot of inspirational books. I enjoy helping people to experience the feeling of being inspired. There is so much untapped potential out there and sometimes all that people need is a bit of encouragement to inspire them to see the possibilities.

3. Tell us more about the impact sports has had on your life

Sport has shaped my character tremendously. Sports offer a very practical way of relating to life. Principles such as leadership, teamwork, confidence, discipline, determination, can all be learnt simply by participating in sports. The beauty is that you don’t go looking for these things, they happen as a by-product of playing a sport. There are so many life lessons that sports teaches, I think I could write a book about it (maybe I will hahaha)

4. Are you involved in any social responsibility projects
Yes, as we are approaching winter, we are working alongside some caring individuals to collect clothes and blankets for the needy. We will be making collection boxes that will go around busy places so people can donate.

5. How do you juggle sports, career and a family

By creating boundaries, I found that I could spend my time effectively with my family at work and playing sports. I have become intentional with the way I spend my time. During working hours, I work. After hours and weekends is for my family and other recreational purpose such as sport.

6. Tell us something we would be surprised to know about you

I can play piano by ear. When I was a young boy, my mum bought a keyboard and I would try and play the songs that I heard. I discovered that I could play songs by ear and as I got older, I spent more tie practising and enjoy playing the keyboard in my personal time at home

7. What’s the secret behind your success
I learn from my failures. “If you learn from defeat, you haven’t really lost” is a quote I truly believe in. We all have a choice. Some people give up and others try again. I believe in putting my whole heart into whatever I do and I never give up.

8. What advice would you give to young entrepreneurs as well as young sports women and men
To young entrepreneurs, I would say, Think BIG and don’t listen to people who tell you it can’t be done. Life is too short to think small.
To young sports men and women, I would say believe that you can do anything and be anything. Don’t limit yourself; every great accomplishment began with a decision to try.

9. Tell us about the inspiration behind your blog
I believe that our lives can improve dramatically if we understand how to apply creativity to our lives. The aim of my blog is to share ideas on creativity, Life and Leadership. I would like to see people succeeding in their busniesses, jobs, marriages, as parent, in their relationship with God. God has given me creative anointing and it’s my duty to use my gift for his glory.

10. Tells us about what inspired you to write ‘101 fun things to do when there is no Zesa’
A few years ago, the power cuts in my area were very bad and I would think of things to do when we didn’t have electricity. The one day I was outside and the idea popped into my head “101 Fun things to do when there is no zesa”. I began writing down my ideas and slowly the book together. As time went on, I realised that people spend too much time on their mobile phones and the use of technology has caused people to disconnect with reality. The bool encourages people to do things that don’t involve technology, even if Zesa is available.
